Today we start a new series for Lent, entitled: Following Jesus … with Peter. You might call it a character study of Peter, one of the best known (and surely the most outspoken) of Jesus’ disciples. But then again, Jesus is always the main character, is he not? Our goal is to follow him. So as we examine stories of Jesus & Peter, my prayer is that we become part of these stories, growing in our obedience and our assurance that Jesus can use us too, faults & all

Bible Verse: Luke 5:1-11

Today Pastor Brink will unwrap another Bible passage that is often misunderstood & misused. The verse is Philippians 4:13 – “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Many people love this verse, but it’s important to know what it does and what it does not mean. The secret is to recognize that this verse is not about achievement, but about contentment – a virtue that we can learn as we walk with Christ through the seasons of life. This might be a good message to share and discuss with a friend.

Bible Verse:  Philippians 4:10-13

Today Pastor Brink will talk about a Bible passage that is often misunderstood and misused. The verse is Matthew 7:1, and it’s important to know what this verse does and does not mean. The truth we need to grasp today is that God wants us all to grow in our faith & obedience. And that requires speaking God’s truth into the lives of others and inviting them to speak God’s truth into our lives, even when it hurts. This might be a message you need to discuss with someone close to you.

Bible Verse: Matthew 7:1-6

Today Pastor Brink wraps up the series on prayer that we started last Fall. It’s called “Lord, Teach Us to Pray!” Today we reflect one more time on the Lord’s Prayer, and on some of the ways it can enrich our personal prayer lives. The goal, of course, is that we will grow in prayer in this new year.

Bible Verse: Matthew 6:9-13 and John 14:12-14

Last Fall we studied “The Lord’s Prayer” – a series titled “Lord, Teach Us to Pray!” – because that’s exactly what Jesus’ disciples said in Luke 11:1. But we didn’t quite finish the series. So Pastor Brink will pick up the last pieces and finish this important series this week and next. Today God has a really timely word for us as we begin a New Year

Bible Verse: Matthew 6:9-13

Today Pastor Dan concludes our December sermon series, entitled “Pictures of His Coming.” Hopefully these messages have helped you to know your Bible better and to love your Savior more!  Today’s story will give us insight into God’s plans, perspective on the world around us, and firm hope for the future — as we begin a New Year under the rule of King Jesus.

Bible Verse: Daniel 2:24-49

Christmas Eve meditation by Pastor Dan Brink

Bible Verse: Luke 2:15-19

Pastor Brink continues with Pictures of His Coming, our theme for this Advent season. We return today to the book of Ezekiel, and to pictures of shepherds and of sheep. There’s a lot we can learn here about ourselves and about our God and Savior.

Bible Verse:  Selections from Ezekiel 34

Pastor Brink continues with “Pictures of His Coming,” our theme this Advent season. Today we meet a prophet named Malachi, through whom God spoke to a discouraged people – a people who had all but given up on God. Malachi assures them that a New Day is about to dawn – The Day of the Lord! He reminds them that it will be a day of judgment & salvation. There’s comfort here, but also a warning: “Don’t play with God!”

Bible Verse: Malachi 3:13 – 4:3

Today Pastor Brink continues on Pictures of His Coming, our sermon series for the Advent season. We will examine a picture from a little-known book of the Bible, Ezekiel. In it we find a find a scary story about sin and its consequences. But we also learn of the mercy of God, which leads us once again to Bethlehem … and to the Communion table this morning.

Bible Verse: Ezekiel 22:1-10
