Today we will continue our study of The Lord’s Prayer, as Pastor Bonny will help us focus on the request, “Give us today our daily bread.” In a land of abundance, how often do we even consider that all we have – food, clothes, homes – are provided by our Heavenly Father. Jesus teaches us to pray for the basics that we need (vs. what we think we need), as a daily reminder of God’s great faithfulness.

Bible Verse: Matthew 6:11 and Luke 12:22-31

Today Pastor Bonny leads us in our continuing studies on “The Lord’s Prayer,” taking a closer look at the phrase “Hallowed Be Your Name.” With these words we are reminded that God is not only our “Abba” (Daddy), he is also the Most High God who is holy and worthy of our deepest respect. Amazingly, we are called to participate in the hallowing of God’s name by the way we live and speak and represent him to others. We are called to make God famous in the world!

Bible Verse: Matthew 6:9c & Philippians 2:9-11

Today we wrap up a 3-part series designed to help us start the new church year well. It’s called “Connect. Grow. Serve.” Each word speaks of God’s plan for us. Connect – reminds us that God designed us to live in community. Grow – speaks of God’s desire for us to mature in our faith. Today Pastor Bonny will lead us in considering Serve – God’s plan for us to be difference-makers for Him in this world.

Bible Verse: I Peter 4:7-11

This morning we continue our summer sermon series, “Kingdom Come!” as Pastor Bonny brings a message on the Parable of the Workers in the Vineyard. In this story, Jesus teaches that the Kingdom of God is full of surprises and reversals. We see God the King as a landowner who keeps searching for workers for the harvest, and he offers the same reward for latecomers as for early recruits. Is the King always fair, in our eyes? What does it mean that the last shall be first? What we will discover is that, ultimately, this King operates out of extravagant generosity and grace.

Bible Verse:  Matthew 20:1-16

This morning we return to our summer sermon series, Kingdom Come! as Pastor Bonny brings a message on the parable of the Sheep and Goats. Jesus said that the Good Shepherd knows His sheep, and they know Him. Today’s question is “How does Jesus recognize us as His sheep?” Can we force our way in to the sheep pen, or do we come by invitation of the Shepherd? What sheep behavior results in eternal blessing in the Kingdom of God?

Bible Verse: Matthew 25:31-46

The Gospels in the New Testament were written to answer a basic and foundational question: Who Is This Jesus? In today’s story, we meet Jesus as the friend and mentor of two sisters, Martha and Mary, whom the Bible tells us Jesus loved. Witness their journey as disciples of Jesus whose lives were transformed by his life-changing, freedom-giving presence. Jesus also wants a relationship with each one of us, with our unique gifts and personalities.

Bible Verse: Luke 10:38-42

Today Pastor Bonny continues with our series Who Is This Jesus?  In today’s story, we are amazed along with the crowd when Jesus demonstrates His divinity by declaring a man’s sins forgiven and then healing his body.  Jesus discerned his deeper need, not just the obvious one, and offered his new life that would outlast his earthly body.  Jesus is still in the soul-healing business today; what does He see when He looks inside you?  What is your deepest need?
Bible Verse:  Mark 2:1-12

Today Pastor Bonny continues our series on Biblical Foundation.  The design of this series is t teach some basic doctrines that will help us understand the Bible and the Christian walk at a deeper level.  It also gives us an expanded vocabulary for understanding and sharing the gospel.  We recently focused on Sin and Salvation; today we will consider the natural outgrowth of a changed heart and life:  Grateful Service.  We do good works not to earn salvation, but because God so graciously saved us.

Bible Passage:  Ephesians 2:8-10

Today Pastor Bonny will focus on the amazing grace that Jesus showers on sinners – including you and me. How can we respond to such undeserving love? With gratitude that permeates our lives, our attitudes, our behaviors, and the way we treat one another. Such generous grace generates humble thanksgiving and a commitment to live our lives in a way that pleases God and grows us in to mature, contagious Christians.

Bible Reading: John 8:1-11

What is the best way to witness to others about the good news of Jesus? Through love, with humility and gentleness, in relationship, as we do life together. That’s the “family method” that the Apostle Paul lays out, as he compares himself to a young child, a nursing mother, and a loving father as he ministered among the people of his church plant in Thessalonian. Our homes and church should be a place where people take notice of the way we love one another out of our love for Christ.

Bible Verse: I  Thessalonians 2:6-12
