Today we take a break from our “Lord’s Prayer” series, joining churches all over the world in giving thanks for a great movement in the history of the Christian Church: “The Protestant Reformation.” While there were many reformers who did their part over many years, the start of the Reformation has become associated with October 31, 1517 – a day when Martin Luther challenged the church to bring its doctrine and practice in line with the Bible, The Word of God.

The reformers insisted that The Bible must be our only rule of faith and life. On this 500th anniversary, what they said & did still matters. We are the heirs and the beneficiaries of their courage, sacrifice, and orthodoxy. You will see their legacy today here at Rosewood, and hopefully in your own life as well. Thanks be to God!

Bible Verse: II Timothy 3:1-5, 14-17

Today Pastor Brink, concludes our studies on the little book of II Timothy.  Today’s message is about “Finishing Well,” and our text is among the last words of the Apostle Paul before he died for his faith.  As he looks to the finish line, you can see what is most important to him.  What is most important in your life?  How would you like your loved ones to remember you?  What do you have to start doing today so that you can truly leave a legacy of faith?

Message: II Timothy 4:1-8

Today Pastor Brink continues our studies on the little book II Timothy, a series that will conclude next week.  Today’s message is, quite honestly, one that most of us would probably rather not hear, and certainly one that we’d rather not put into practice.  If you read the text, you will immediately see why.  But sometimes the things that are hardest for us to hear are the very things we most need to understand and obey.  May God help us today!

Message: II Timothy 3:12

Today Pastor Bonny is continuing our teaching on the book of II Timothy, which is actually a letter from the Apostle Paul to Timothy, his spiritual son.  Today we hear the Apostle Paul challenging God’s people to remember Jesus, the resurrected one who secured our salvation and gives us the task of spreading the gospel,  and the one for whom we are willing to sacrifice our all.  There is no other truth worth living or dying for!

Message: II Timothy 2:8-15

Today Pastor Bonny is continuing our teaching on the book of II Timothy, which is actually a letter from the Apostle Paul to Timothy, his spiritual son.  Today we hear the Apostle Paul challenging God’s people to give their best to the Master, to be holy – set apart for service to God.  In order to do that, we may need to give up some things that distract us and give ourselves more fully to his cause.  We need to consider the eternal plan of God and how we fit that plan, and then be able to sincerely say, “Take my life and let it be consecrated, Lord, to thee.”

Message: II Timothy 2:20-21

Today Pastor Brink is again teaching on the book of II Timothy, which is actually a letter. It was written by the Apostle Paul to Timothy, his spiritual son and protege.  Today we hear the Apostle Paul laying out God’s plan for discipleship.  The pattern has Old Testament roots, and it is God’s prescribed plan for reproducing faith both from generation to generation and to the ends of the earth.May God today make all of us more grateful and more faithful on our stewardship of the gospel, especially when we see what’s at stake.

Message: II Timothy 1:1-2, 2:1-2

Today Pastor Bonny continues our new teaching series entitled A Life That Counts Forever, based on the book of 2 Timothy (a letter from Paul to Timothy).  Today we – with Timothy – are urged to both guard and share the precious gift of salvation through Christ with others.  We are saved by God’s grace, which is good news that elicits shouts rather than whispers, boldness rather than timidity.

Message: II Timothy 1;3-14

Today Pastor Brink a new teaching series entitled A Life That Counts Forever. It’s based on the book of II Timothy (which is actually a letter from Paul to Timothy), and you’re encouraged to read through this short book several times on your own in the next couple weeks.

Message: II Timothy 2:3-7

Today Pastor Brink continues with our fall series, entitled “Live Like a Christian!” The point is that many people are “nominal Christians,” meaning they claim to be a Christian but don’t live like one. As a result they’re likely among the self-deceived whom Jesus describes in Matthew 7:21. Today we will see that true followers of Jesus place their lives under His authority. They do what he says. They obey even when they don’t understand. This is what the world needs to see people who don’t just want Jesus as their Savior, but who truly follow Him as their Lord.

Message: II Timothy 3:1-5, 14-17

Today Pastor Brink starts a new teaching series. It’s based on the Bible, of course; but in this series we will also be looking back at “Core Values” that our Rosewood council adopted many years ago. A brochure explaining these “Core Values” is enclosed in this bulletin. We always distribute this info in our New Members Class; we think it will be beneficial to reinforce these foundational biblical principles with the whole church.
Core values are not simply a statement of what we believe; they’re more a statement about how we do life together. Every organization has core values, and though they are sometimes unwritten they always shape the life of that organization. Hopefully as we talk about our “Core Values” together, Bible in hand, you will say: “Yes, that’s what our church is really like!” Or better yet: “This is why I love being part of Rosewood!”
