Today we launch a new season of church activities. We believe God has a place and plan for every last person who walked through the door this morning. And we’d like to help you find that place – a place where you & your children can flourish in your walk with God. With that in mind, Pastor Brink is beginning today a three-part mini-series to help us kick off this new church year. It’s entitled “Connect. Grow. Serve.” Each word says something about God’s desire for us. Today we begin with “Connect,” God calling us live well and flourish in community – at home, in the world, and in the community of faith. Do you know where you fit? Do you know that you need people, and that people need you? Listen well, and maybe God will speak to the deep places of your heart today.

Bible Verse: Ecclesiastes 4:7-12

Today we wrap up our summer series, “Kingdom Come!”  And today we will be reminded of the message that rings out in every book of the New Testament: Jesus is alive! Jesus is King! Jesus is coming again to make all things new!  Hopefully these truths will not only shape what we believe, but also what we value and how we live. Let’s live today as children of the future!

Bible Verse: Ephesians 1:3-14

Our summer theme is “Kingdom Come!” Today we will note that a number of the stories told by Jesus begin with this little formula, “This is what the Kingdom of God is like.” These stories are sometimes called “Kingdom Parables.” But it’s important to know that Jesus is rarely talking about the future in such parables; rather, he is telling us, “This is what it’s like to live today under the rule of God.” Today Pastor Brink will open up for us one such parable, and we will learn that the Kingdom of God is like, believe it or not, a FARM. There are lots of practical lessons here about what our job is, what God’s job is, and about who gets the glory.

Bible Verse: Mark 4:26-29

This morning we continue our summer sermon series, “Kingdom Come!” as Pastor Bonny brings a message on the Parable of the Workers in the Vineyard. In this story, Jesus teaches that the Kingdom of God is full of surprises and reversals. We see God the King as a landowner who keeps searching for workers for the harvest, and he offers the same reward for latecomers as for early recruits. Is the King always fair, in our eyes? What does it mean that the last shall be first? What we will discover is that, ultimately, this King operates out of extravagant generosity and grace.

Bible Verse:  Matthew 20:1-16

This morning we return to our summer sermon series, Kingdom Come! as Pastor Bonny brings a message on the parable of the Sheep and Goats. Jesus said that the Good Shepherd knows His sheep, and they know Him. Today’s question is “How does Jesus recognize us as His sheep?” Can we force our way in to the sheep pen, or do we come by invitation of the Shepherd? What sheep behavior results in eternal blessing in the Kingdom of God?

Bible Verse: Matthew 25:31-46

Special guest give the sermon today.

This morning Pastor Brink continues our summer series, “Kingdom Come!”  We’ve learned that the Kingdom of God is not the only “kingdom” – there’s also “the dominion of darkness.” This is why we need to surround our children with holy heroes and godly mentors. That begins with us, as parents & grandparents, but it also includes the whole family of faith. We want our kids to “Follow Those Who Follow Jesus.” That’s  one big reason you’re gonna want to come back to Rosewood … again and again!

Bible Verse:  Philippians 3:17-21

This morning Pastor Brink continues our summer series, “Kingdom Come!” The promise of the Kingdom of God is “shalom” – “peace,” “a well-ordered world.” But the actual world we live in today is painfully distant from that dream. Why is it taking so long? Today we will learn some of God’s reasons, and we will learn some things about the work that God has yet to do before Jesus returns.

Bible Verse: Colossians 1:3-14

This morning Pastor Brink continues our summer series, “Kingdom Come!” Sometimes we work and worry as if everything depends on us. Isn’t that true? Like Martha in Luke 10, we’ are often “anxious and troubled about many things.” Today Jesus will teach us how to live well as citizens of the Kingdom of God and members of the Family of God. He calls us to trust more, worry less, and seek God’s Kingdom first. And when we actually do this, the benefits are astonishing!

Matthew 6:25-34

This morning Pastor Brink continues our summer series, “Kingdom Come!” Today we learn how, after our sin and rebellion, God stepped into the middle of the muddle with unexpected and undeserved grace. God resolved to have a family – children who love him and strive to be like him. Are you part of that “forever family” through Christ? Or are you part of the “other family”? Your actions and affections will likely give you some clues about your family identity. This is urgent stuff.

Bible Verse: I John 3:1-15
