Pastor Dan Brink begins a new series of messages for Lent. It’s entitles “The King, the Controversy, and the Cross.” Based on Mark 2:1-3:6, this series will help us explore the question: “How could someone as good and loving as Jesus end up hanging on a cross?” We will not only learn the answer to that question, but also lots of practical lessons about our relationship with God and what it means to follow Jesus.
Message: Mark 2:1-12
Pastor Dan Brink will reflect on some scriptures that are dear to his heart, central to our mission as a church, and directly relevant to the sacrament of baptism which we will witness today.
Message: Psalm 78:1-7
Pastor Bonny will bring us the message from God’s Word, focusing on a story of how Jesus extended love to a lowly woman whom the world rejected.
Message: Luke 7:36-50
Pastor Bonny will bring us the message from God’s Word today as a reflection on and follow-up to Pastor Dan Brink’s January sermon series, “Between Chaos and Shalom.” We’ve been challenged to listen to God’s voice, rather than the voices of the world, in the critical areas of money, sex, and power. Today we will get back to our basic choices through Psalm 1 which contrasts the way of chaos and the way of shalom.
Message: Psalm 1
