Today we take a break from our “Lord’s Prayer” series, joining churches all over the world in giving thanks for a great movement in the history of the Christian Church: “The Protestant Reformation.” While there were many reformers who did their part over many years, the start of the Reformation has become associated with October 31, 1517 – a day when Martin Luther challenged the church to bring its doctrine and practice in line with the Bible, The Word of God.

The reformers insisted that The Bible must be our only rule of faith and life. On this 500th anniversary, what they said & did still matters. We are the heirs and the beneficiaries of their courage, sacrifice, and orthodoxy. You will see their legacy today here at Rosewood, and hopefully in your own life as well. Thanks be to God!

Bible Verse: II Timothy 3:1-5, 14-17

Sometimes we become comfortable with our routines perhaps too comfortable! One day is much like the next, and life seems predictable. But the truth is: one day things will be very different, because one day King Jesus will return! He will “destroy the devil’s work” (I John 3:8), and there will be “a new heaven and a new earth in which righteousness dwells” (II Peter 3:13). Knowing this should change how we think, what we value, and how we live. Jesus teaches us to pray for that day and to prepare for that day! Today, as we continue our study of The Lord’s Prayer, Pastor Brink will talk about Praying for the Victory of God. It’s revolutionary!

Bible Reading: Matthew 6:10a and Revelation 21:1-5a

Today Pastor Bonny leads us in our continuing studies on “The Lord’s Prayer,” taking a closer look at the phrase “Hallowed Be Your Name.” With these words we are reminded that God is not only our “Abba” (Daddy), he is also the Most High God who is holy and worthy of our deepest respect. Amazingly, we are called to participate in the hallowing of God’s name by the way we live and speak and represent him to others. We are called to make God famous in the world!

Bible Verse: Matthew 6:9c & Philippians 2:9-11

Last week we started a series on “The Lord’s Prayer.” We’re calling it, Lord, Teach Us to Pray! The prayer begins by teaching us who and where God is, and what our relationship with him and each other can be. But our goal is not just to learn a few things; our goal is to grow in our prayer life and in our daily walk with God. Today’s message also calls us to deepen our love for each other.

Bible Verse:  Matthew 6:5-13

Today we begin a new series on “The Lord’s Prayer.” We’re calling it, Lord, Teach Us to Pray! – because that’s exactly what Jesus’ disciples said in Luke 11:1. May we also have that desire to sit at the feet of Jesus and learn how to have a more intimate relationship with God. May prayer become, more & more, for each of us, not just our duty but our chief delight.

Bible Verse:  Matthew 6:5-13
