Today Pastor Brink starts a new series for the season.  It’s called “Christmas Is a War Story.”  We’ll be examining God’s battle to rescue us from our ancient enemy and bring salvation to the world.  It’s a serious story, and sadly there have been many casualties.  And the battle continues to this day.  Our prayer is that these lessons would make us more grateful, but also more vigilant and more effective as the foot soldiers of the kingdom.  It is a great season to bring a guest to church.

Bible Verse: Genesis 3:1-15, Matthew 1:18-23

Thanksgiving meditation by pastor Dan Brink

Bible Verse: Hebrews 13:5

Today Pastor Dan wraps up our series of studies on the prophet Elisha. His name means “My God Saves” and that was also his message. Today, from the tale of some unlikely heroes, we learn that God wants all people everywhere to know of his salvation and to experience the blessings of his shalom.

Bible Verse:  II Kings 7:3-16

What is the best way to witness to others about the good news of Jesus? Through love, with humility and gentleness, in relationship, as we do life together. That’s the “family method” that the Apostle Paul lays out, as he compares himself to a young child, a nursing mother, and a loving father as he ministered among the people of his church plant in Thessalonian. Our homes and church should be a place where people take notice of the way we love one another out of our love for Christ.

Bible Verse: I  Thessalonians 2:6-12

Today’s story is about a man who heard the promise of God’s salvation but he didn’t believe it. The result was disastrous. Proverbs 3:5 says: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.” This man in our story today did the opposite: he leaned on his own understanding and did not trust God. May this be a cautionary tale for us and also an encouragement to know that – yes, God does keep all his promises!
